Propabanda is an energetic fusion of many different styles with one common denominator: Balkan style in the broadest sense!
The band deliberately picks the tastiest morsels from the Balkan cauldron and serves them to listeners with a wink and a heavy dose of wild improvisation. We love juggling styles, looking south toward Europe in our own way.
Keeping the melody of a Slavic soul with an oriental ornament, Propabanda surprises listeners with everything from a virtuosic gypsy twist to Romanian slow disco, and even elements of punk and ska. All of which makes it one of the most interesting projects on the Polish world-music scene.
The band was a semi-finalist on the Must be the Music TV show, has played several hundred concerts, and has performed at festivals including Pannonica Folk Festival, Kazimiernikejszyn, Kortowiada, Lubliner Festiwal and Art&Life Festival Ostrava, as well as at the Burgtheater in Vienna.
In 2012 Propabanda appeared twice on the compilation Balkan&Jewish Inspirations, alongside stars of the genre such as Shantel, Taraf de Haïdouks and Goran Bregović.
